3 WAYS TO GET YOUR LEADERSHIP GROOVE ON.

3 Ways to Get Your Leadership Groove On

The world needs more female leaders.

I love when we see our FemCity Leaders flourish in their roles, taking on a new leadership role and making a difference for dozens of women. My inspiration and motivation comes from envisioning more women to take on leadership roles, whether it be as a FemCity Leader, in the role of a Board of Directors or in political world. Whichever way, the world needs more female leaders. From my birds-eye view of the world, I see women intimidated by leadership roles, shy to step up to the plate, or nervous to fail or not be well-liked. Wouldn’t it be great for them to play big, be of service to others in a grand way, and shine while encouraging other women to do the same? The world would be a better place if more women were in leadership roles. I believe this with every ounce of my heart and spirit. Regardless of background, spirituality, DNA, education or political affiliation, the world needs more women leaders.

Here are 3 Ways to Get Your Leadership Groove On :

  1. Pick 1 project: Create a street cleanup, coordinate an office outing, or create a neighborhood potluck. Pick a project that you are passionate about, and create a small project impacting 5-10 people in a great way. Just start with one and do it well. Those around you will start to see your leadership skills, you will have a grand sense of accomplishment, and you will increase your leadership self-esteem.

  2. Step up: Find an organization, club, gathering, or group, and step up to help in some way. Ask, “What may I do to help” and that will lead you to a few small leadership roles and activities. Before you know it, you will be searching for other ways to help and you will inspire others to do the same. Humans copy the behaviors of other humans.

  3. Take on any leadership role: Is there a board position, committee chair or leadership role that is seeking a person to make a difference? Sign up for it, show up and do the work, and be a person of integrity and accountability. The only way to be a great leader is to step into the role, give it 150% and allow others to shine too. A majority of our leaders have never led before, but once they step into the FemCity Leader role, they blossom and flourish and it encourages others to do it too.
